Paper doll sketches

After one of the tutorial, I got suggested to try add some more details of the paper doll such as adding (historical) descriptions of each fashion items, different styles of the shoes, etc.

To make the page look more coordinate with the Rococo fashion aesthetic, I can also add a Rococo frame around the edge of the page. Here’re some captures of the work in progress.

I was thinking to add a Rococo pattern as the background above but I realised it’s over simulated which let the objects blended in with the background. The objects was not stand out to the viewers so I decided to keep the background simple as the pastel colour palette.

I was thinking to add a frame for the finish version paper doll, to make the outcome more layered in detail. Since I realised most of the portraits from the Rococo era are in vertical format as well, so I decided to switch my paper doll layout from horizontal to vertical format as the final version from below.

I used Procreate on my iPad to create my work, here’s some work in process.
